Electronic Cameras are installed in Mumbai to monitor flood. 100 CCTV cameras were placed at various strategic locations.

Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) had installed 16 cameras while Mumbai traffic police had setup up 84 CCTV cameras.  All these cameras are directly linked with the Disaster Management Cell (DMC) of civic administration. DMC will keep a check on these cameras and will initiate real time measures in case of any emergency.

All these initiatives have been taken to enhance disaster management in Mumbai. MCGM has installed 220 pumps at 185 chronic flood prone areas around Mumbai to pump out water. Nine teams of the National Disaster Relief Force will be posted in the city throughout the rainy season. It has also formed flood rescue team, comprising cops and firemen which will be posted at beaches and waterfalls.
