The city police of Hyderabad has launched a new dedicated website on which traffic jam alerts will be updated regularly. The website called www.htp.gov.in through which people can lodge complaints pertaining to traffic using the `Traffic Help Desk' link and also check the status of the complaint. The website also offers services like checking the e-challan status and data pertaining to accidents.

Hyderabad police commissioner B Prasada Rao who launched the website also launched the service of making e-challan payments online using www.aponline.com. Additional commissioner of police (traffic) N V Surendra Babu asked other routers to give details where there is traffic jam. The traffic police website notifies the existing identified parking zones, towing zones, area with no right turn, accident prone areas, water logging areas, flyovers in twin cities, places where there is no entry for lorries and buses. The website also contains road rules like the precautions to be taken during overtaking, the need to wear helmets and others.
