Ugandan Government Ministries to go online

Now, the government ministries and departments of Uganda will be connected to each other through teleconferencing. According to a statement issued by the Information Communication Technology ministry, the network is being refined and will be officially launched in Kampala soon.

The network is the part of the national backbone infrastructure project. So far, the project has already covered the city of Kampala, towns of Entebbe and Jinja town that is located in Eastern Uganda. The system works with multiple users and through the network users can hold discussions with other ministries or departments. Officials can also make Powerpoint presentations on screen and others can give immediate response to the presentation through the click of the button. In the first phase, the infrastructure of the project would be completed with the completion of e-Government project. In the next phase, the project will connect all health centres.
