On 26th November,2007, the Chandigarh Administration inaugurated an e-Gram Sampark Center at Village Behlana as a part of the drive to provide e-Governance services to empower the rural people of union territory.

Villages of Dhanas, KhudaJassu, Kaimbwala and Raipur Khurd have already been covered under this facility, according to a Chandigarh Administration release.

Inaugurating this, the Chandigarh Adviser to the Administrator, Pradip Mehra, informed that simultaneously, two more Gram Sampark Centres at villages Makhan Majra and Raipur Kalan have also become operational shortly, increasing the total number of Gram Sampark Centres to seven.

Mehra further informed that the Gram Sampark Center would not only provide them the various public utility services, but it will also act as a Rural Knowledge Center equipped with an IT support structure.
