This would be the first time not only in India but also in South Asia to offer air-tickets in ATMs. Andhra Bank has tied up with Kingfisher Airlines to offer customers to purchase the air-tickets through the bank's 400-strong ATM network across the country.

The only need is that user need to call airline's call centre and inform them about their desired sector, date and time of travel. Customers who have either an Andhra Bank's ATM/debit card or a Visa card issued by any other institution in Southeast Asia, would then be given a booking reference number (BRN) along with the fare particulars. Even customers buy the ticket electronically at any ATM of Andhra Bank by typing the BRN number and produce the receipt generated at the facility at the airport for the boarding pass or ticket. According to Pravin Laghate, senior manager at the Kingfisher Airlines Limited, this service would be more convenient as compared to e-Ticketing through Internet as one can book the ticket while traveling also.
