HCM City launches broadband server and business portal for e-Gov

The Ho Chi Minh City's Post and Telecommunications Department has launched a broadband as the server for the e-Government and a business portal at the website www.hcmcportal.com.vn.

A series of projects and supporting policies would be implemented in 2007 to help IT businesses benefit from development opportunities. Additionally, technical infrastructure development programmes would also be provided for e-Commerce services. Government will pay attention to e-Commercial supporting services for sectors relating to public transaction like on-line services, e-Customs, licence granting and business registering through the Internet. HCM City is currently home to 5,632 IT businesses with a combined registered capital of more than $925 million.
