NASSCOM and VOICE, the IT software and services industry in association with Pune Police has inaugurated the state's first Cyber Crime Investigation Lab in Pune, India.

 

NASSCOM, the premier trade body, VOICE has inaugurated its fourth cyber lab in Pune, India. It is expected that cyber lab will train more than 3000 law enforcement officials' annually on cyber crime investigation techniques and provide ongoing technical support for investigations as well. The lab will function as a regional hub and undertake training and investigation in Pune and adjoining cities of Sholapur, Nasik and Aurangabad, in addition to the neighbouring districts of Maharashtra. The training will include familiarization on areas like Internet, browsing, email, mobile telephony, e-Commerce and online banking. These law enforcement officials will be well equipped to carry out various activities like analysing and scrutinising data on digital media, email tracking, extracting evidence using forensic tools, and on understanding cyber crime-related legislation.
