Government of Uganda to review five-year master plan of ICT Strategy

The government will embark on reviewing its five-year master plan of the Information and Communication Technology strategy next month, the Special Presidential Assistant in charge of Information Communication and Technology, Mr Ibrahim Kaliisa, has said.

Kaliisa said the review aims at reducing the cost of connectivity in community driven ICT networks in rural areas and to improve economic development in the country. He was speaking during a workshop for ICT stakeholders in Kampala on August 18.It was organised by Women of Uganda Network whose theme was community driven ICT network for local development in rural areas. He said the ICT sector had attracted more investors and is among the biggest revenue bases for the country.
