The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has donated and installed Information communications technology (ICT) equipment at the National Assembly of Zambia at the cost of 790,000 U.S. dollars.

UNDP resident representative Aeneas Chuma handed over the equipment in Lusaka and said the ICT system donated is meant to enhance the work of the legislators. He said that access to information is a pivotal empowerment tool and vital for strengthening accountability, transparency, participation and rule of law. While receiving the equipment, Speaker of the National Assembly Amusaa Mwanamwambwa said the equipment has come at the right time as it will enhance the service delivery to the parliament members.
