Sunil Garg took over as a new Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Goa police. Garg, a 1992-batch IPS officer, served as a Joint Commissioner in Delhi police before he was transferred to Goa as IGP. The IGP’s post was vacant in Goa since January 22, 2013, after the Union home ministry issued transfer orders to Goa IGP Sanjay Singh, following a request from the state government to remove him from the post.
