The Central Government appointed as many as 38 Union Joint Secretaries in one go. While in some cases, there were lateral shifts, in some others, fresh appointments were made, and the rest, who are currently serving as directors, will soon join as joint secretaries. Those being appointed joint secretaries are:

* TVSN Prasad, 1988 batch Haryana cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.

* 1995 batch UT cadre IAS officer Varsha Joshi, currently Director, Census, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

* Satbir Silas Bedi, 1986 batch UT cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of School Education and Literacy.

* Surina Rajan, 1985 batch Haryana cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of defence.

* Sandeep Pondrik, 1993 batch Bihar cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

* Hitesh Kumar S Makwana, 1995 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer, at present on compulsory wait in Shipping Ministry, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

* Shashi Prakash Goyal, 1989 batch UP cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Higher Education.

* Rakesh Ranjan, 1992 batch Manipur-Tripura cadre IAS officer, currently on compulsory wait in the Ministry of Culture, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Higher Education.

* Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, 1988 batch Uttarakhand cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Higher Education in place of Jagmohan Singh Raju, 1985 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer, who was prematurely repatriated to his cadre on June 30, 2014.

* Urvilla Khati, 1986 batch IRPS officer and Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Steel.

* Amita Prasad, 1985 batch Karnataka cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.

* Nisha Singh, 1987 batch Himachal Pradesh cadre and Joint Secretary in Urban Development Ministry, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Atomic Energy.

* Dilip Kumar, 1995 batch Punjab cadre IAS officer, presently on compulsory wait in the Ministry of External Affairs, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

* Dr M Ariz Ahmmed, 1995 batch Assam cadre IAS officer, currently a Director in the Department of School Education, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Pharmaceuticals.

* Ashok Pal Singh, 1986 batch IPoS officer, currently Deputy Director in UIDAI, has been appointed Ashok Pal Singh, 1986 batch in the Department of Disinvestment.

* Himanshu Kumar, 1990 batch UP cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Defence.

* Niranjan Kumar Singh, 1987 batch Gujarat cadre Indian Forest Service officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Mines.

* Sudhansh Pant, 1991 batch Rajasthan cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Pharmaceuticals.

* Chintamani Manohar Sane, 1993 batch Indian Audit and Accounts Service officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary (Finance) in Department of Space, Bengaluru.

* U P Singh, 1985 batch Odisha cadre IAS officer, now Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Steel, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Petroleum Ministry.

* I S Chahal, 1989 batch Maharashtra cadre IAS officer, now JS in MHA, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Women and Child Development.

* 1990 batch IDAS officer Arti Bhatnagar has been appointed Joint Secretary (Security) in the Cabinet Secretariat.

* Manoj Kumar Singh, 1988 batch UP cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change.

* Bharat Harbanslal Khera, 1995 batch Himachal Pradesh cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Defence Production.

* 1986 batch Gujarat cadre IAS officer Dr Guruprasad Mohapatra, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce.

* Ali Raza Rizvi, 1988 batch Himachal Pradesh cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Health and Family Welfare.

* Gopal Krishna Dwivedi, 1993 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS officer, who is now on compulsory wait in the Ministry of Commerce, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

* Manisha Prasad Panwar, 1990 batch Uttarakhand cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Women and Child Development.

* Heera Lal Samariya, 1985 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Fertilizer.

* Ranjit Punhani, 1991 batch Bihar cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

* RA Rajeev, 1987 batch Maharashtra cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary (Finance) in the Department of Atomic Energy, Mumbai.

* J Rama Krishna Rao, 1985 batch Bihar cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Defence Production.

* Sudhir Kumar, a CSS officer, has been appointed Joint Secretary (Administration) in CBDT under the Department of Revenue.

* Praveen Prakash, 1994 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS officer, currently Joint Secretary in the Department of higher education, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Urban Development Ministry.

* Rakesh Kumar Singh, 1989 batch Kerala cadre IAS officer, and Joint Secretary in the Petroleum Ministry, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the department of Agriculture and Cooperation.

* Uday Singh Kumawat, 1993 batch Bihar cadre IAS officer, presently on compulsory wait in the Agriculture Ministry, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Revenue.

* Anil Kumar Singh, 1995 batch UT cadre IAS officer, presently on compulsory wait in the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Power.

* Dr G Anupama, 1991 batch Haryana cadre IAS OFFICER, currently on compulsory wait in the Culture Ministry, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research.
