The State Data Centre of Government of Karnataka was set up during 2004-05 as a core common technology infrastructure. The State Data Centre (SDC) provides the infrastructure required for consolidating state level applications at a central facility.

India expects to collect INR 350 billion from the auction of third-generation (3G) radio spectrum, scheduled to happen by December this year. The auction would allow telecoms firms to offer services such as high-speed Internet and video downloads on mobile phones. The government had initially aimed to get INR 200 billion.
