In the early age of computing, huge computers involving complex sets of components were present which required a lot of power and cooling and posed a daunting task for infrastructure management and operations. Hewlett Packard (HP) has received the prestigious Rs.468 million bid of Himachal Pradesh Wide Area Network (HIMSWAN) after beating six other bidders, including Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro, Bharti Airtel, Tulip IT and Bel.
