A recent visit by egov team to Chandigarh brings out this first-hand report on the city
Chandigarh, with its vibrant character and excellent facilities, is emerging as a major Information Technology Centre.
Launched by the Delhi Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit, amid much fanfare in February 2003, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) website – http://www.mcdonline.gov.in – shows stale information. A large amount of people’s money goes to the ECIL-SARK consortium that is responsible for maintaining the website. And still the website is outdated and poorly maintained. A lot of hue and cry was raised over it recently in its standing committee meeting.
