The ministry of National Economy and Omantel have signed an agreement to design, implement and manage a unified e-Government network. The agreement comes as part of the government’s plans to realise the Digital Oman initiative and e-Governance.

The Med-e-Tel 2006 edition took place on 5-7 April at Luxexpo, Luxembourg. It was host to 400 decision makers from 48 countries and featured a world class conference programme, opening up windows to a multitude of ICT applications in the modern healthcare environment.

The need to empower citizens is paramount and a common objective for all the States of India. Accordingly, the Government of India is actively working to implement the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP). Certainly, Satellite based e-Governance networks can provide excellent solution to make NeGP a success since they are not dependent on geographical parameters and can ably cater the scattered and medium to low traffic areas.
