The power demand in Delhi is around 4400MW in peak hours. Our contribution is around 700-750 MWs. Rest of the demand is met through purchasing power from other states and corporations. In order to reduce this dependence, we have planned to have in-house generating capacity, that too, without polluting the environment.

Launched by the Delhi Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit, amid much fanfare in February 2003, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) website – http://www.mcdonline.gov.in – shows stale information. A large amount of people’s money goes to the ECIL-SARK consortium that is responsible for maintaining the website. And still the website is outdated and poorly maintained. A lot of hue and cry was raised over it recently in its standing committee meeting.
