From this year onwards, the Bihar government has decided to use mobile phones in monitoring of floods within the state. This is indicated by Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar during the launch of the Mobile Inspection System which is first of its kind in the state.
Bihar Government has approved the proposal of e-governance in its all 8,479 panchayats at a cost of Rs.252 million. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and the Bihar State Electronics Development Corporation have designed the e-governance software project.
The Bihar government is finally taking steps to catch up with other developed states by equipping all of their 26 ministers with sophisticated laptop computers under the national e-Governance plan of the Central government.
