
In a major administrative reshuffle, the Telangana government has reassigned several IAS officers to critical roles, with additional responsibilities to enhance governance and strengthen various sectors. The move, announced on Wednesday, aims to improve efficiency across urban governance, energy, cultural preservation, and welfare programs.
Dr. Ilambarithi K, a 2005 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), where he will oversee Hyderabad’s urban governance, infrastructure development, and civic management.
1997 batch IAS officer N Sridhar, currently Principal Secretary of the Scheduled Castes Development department, will also take charge as Principal Secretary for Youth Advancement, Tourism, and Culture, while continuing as Director of Archaeology, focusing on preserving Telangana’s rich cultural heritage.

1998 batch IAS officer Sandeep Kumar Sultania, presently Principal Secretary in the Finance department, has been given additional responsibility as Secretary of the Energy department. This includes serving as Chairman and Managing Director of both Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Limited (TS Genco) and the Transmission Corporation of Telangana Limited (TS Transco).

Dr. Christina Z Chongthu, IAS, currently serving as Secretary in the Health, Medical, and Family Welfare department, will now take on the role of Director of the Department of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy).

Dr. TK Sreedevi, IAS, Commissioner of the Scheduled Castes Development department, has been appointed as Secretary of the Women Development and Child Welfare department, where she will oversee programs focused on women’s empowerment and child welfare.
