6 Officials transferred in Chandigarh, Mandip Singh Brar appointed Secretary Culture

In a significant reshuffle, the Chandigarh Administration has reassigned several key officials across different departments following the appointment of 2006-batch IAS officer Prerna Puri to the Union Territory Administration on October 11, 2024.


As part of the changes, 2005-batch IAS officer Mandip Singh Brar has been appointed as Secretary, Culture. Meanwhile, 2018-batch IAS officer Hari Kallikkat will take on the roles of Commissioner of Excise and Taxation, as well as Secretary of the Agriculture Marketing Board.

Additionally, Rupesh Kumar will step down from his current position, effective October 18, 2024. Several officers have also been given additional responsibilities alongside their existing roles, including:

  • Akhil Kumar, DANICS, assigned as Registrar Cooperative Societies.
  • Amit Kumar, DANICS, appointed Secretary, State Transport Authority.
  • Sorabh Kumar Arora, PCS, named Joint Secretary, House Allotment Committee.
