SKG Rahate appointed Chairperson of Airports Economic Regulatory Authority

Days after retiring from his role as Union Secretary in the Department of Justice, S. K. G. Rahate (Retd IAS: 1990: JH) has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) for a term of three years. According to reports, Rahate is set to assume his new responsibilities next week.


The Government of India, in compliance with the AERA Act (2008), established the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA) with the aim of overseeing tariff and other charges related to aeronautical services provided at airports.
