In a recent development, the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) issued an order on May 8, appointing K Sanjay Murthy (IAS: 1989 batch) as the Secretary of the Department of School Education & Literacy, in addition to his current role as Secretary in the Department of Higher Education. This move comes as Sanjay Kumar (IAS: 1990 batch) takes leave from his position.
Furthermore, R Menaka (IAS: 2011: AGMUT) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Commerce, Delhi, for a term of four years. Meanwhile, Prekshit Prashant assumes the role of Director in the Department of Defence, Delhi, for a tenure of five years. Similarly, Vijay Kumar Goel (IRSME: 2009) takes up the position of Director in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Delhi, also for a period of five years.
Ankur Gupta (IAS: 1990 batch, Haryana cadre), currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary in the Departments of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Animal Husbandry & Dairying, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Additional Chief Secretary (appointments) in the Department of Personnel.

Moreover, the tenure of Kalyani Sethuraman (IRAS: 1994) as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL), Bengaluru, has been extended for an additional six months, continuing her role as CVO at Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL), Bengaluru, beyond April 18, 2024.
