Pankaj Kumar sworn in as Union Lokpal Member

In a significant development, Mr. Pankaj Kumar, a seasoned 1986 batch senior IAS officer hailing from the Gujarat cadre, has officially assumed office as a Member of the Lokpal, the anti-corruption ombudsman body of the Government of India.


Prior to this prestigious appointment, Mr. Kumar held the position of Chief Secretary in the state of Gujarat, showcasing his extensive administrative experience and expertise.

The oath-taking ceremony took place today at the Lokpal of India office situated in New Delhi. Presiding over the ceremony was Justice A. M. Khanwilkar, the esteemed Chairperson of the Lokpal of India, who administered the oath to Mr. Kumar.

The event was attended by distinguished dignitaries, including Praveen Kumar Srivastava, the Central Vigilance Commissioner, and other senior officials representing agencies such as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
