In a recent bureaucratic changes, the Odisha government, led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, has made significant promotions within the IAS cadre:

Senior IAS officers from the 1994 batch, G Mathivathanan and Santosh Kumar Sarangi, have been elevated to the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) rank. The promotion grants them access to the Apex Scale in Level-17 of the Pay Matrix.

As per an official notification by the General Administration & Public Grievance (GA & PG) department, both officers have received this well-deserved promotion to the apex scale. Mr. Mathivathanan, formerly the principal Secretary in the Housing and Urban Development department, has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) and will continue in this position until further orders.

On the other hand, Mr. Sarangi, currently serving as the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), has been granted Proforma Promotion to the Apex Scale, marking a significant career advancement for the distinguished officer.
