Madhya Pradesh Govt

In preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh later this year, the state government has initiated a significant administrative overhaul by transferring 25 IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officers and 186 SAS (State Administrative Service) officers. The Election Commission had recommended the reassignment of officers who had been serving in the same district for the past three years to ensure impartiality and efficiency in the election process.

The Chief Secretary and Director General of Police were tasked with issuing the transfer orders, following the Election Commission’s directive. The Commission has set a deadline of July 31, 2023, for the state government to submit a compliance report on the transfers.

Among the notable changes, Krishna Gopal Tiwari (2008), who previously held the position of Additional Commissioner of Tribal Welfare, has been appointed as the Additional Secretary of the Water Resources department. Additionally, Ajay Shrivastava, CEO of Damoh district panchayat, has been reassigned as the Additional Commissioner of Tribal Welfare in Bhopal.

Rani Batad (2014), who served as CEO of Mandla district panchayat, has now been appointed as the Additional Commissioner of Shahdol division. Furthermore, Ajay Dev Sharma, the Additional Collector of Indore, will now assume the role of CEO of Ujjain district panchayat.

These changes reflect a strategic realignment of key administrative positions to ensure smooth governance and effective management in the run-up to the state elections. The transfer of officers is anticipated to optimize resources and enhance administrative capabilities across various districts in Madhya Pradesh.
