Neeraj Thakur To Take Over As DGP, Andaman & Nicobar Islands: MHA

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, issued orders on 29th March to appoint Neeraj Thakur as Director General of Police (DGP), Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The 1994-Batch IPS officer of AGMUT cadre, Thakur is currently holding the charge of Special Commissioner of Police (Special Cell), Delhi Police.


As per the Ministry’s orders, Neeraj Thakur will take over the charge from the incumbent DGP of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Satyendra Garg. While Garg, an IPS officer of 1987-Batch of AGMUT cadre, has been moved to the national capital to join Delhi Police. He assumed the post of DGP, Andaman and Nicobar Islands in December 2020.
