Former CS of Andhra Pradesh Nilam Sawhney IAS becomes State Election Commissioner

The Governor of Andhra Pradesh Biswabhushan Harichandan recently released official orders to appointed Nilam Sawhney (IAS 1984-Batch) the former Chief Secretary, as the State Election Commissioner (SEC). She retired as Chief Secretary in December 2020. Following her retirement, she was posted as the principal advisor to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.


Sawhney will be taking over the newly appointed charge of March 31 when the incumbent SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar leaves the office.
