Amid the nationwide lockdown due to coronavirus outbreak, a women Self Help Group in Narayanpet district of Telangana has taken an initiative to supply essentials at doorsteps using e-autos.
The SHG is presently using 11 autos for 11 Mandals in the district. The SHG, for convenience of the people, have provided each Mandal with a different number so that the people can either call the group for supplies or can send their order on Whatsapp.
“We don’t want people to step out often. And, it will be difficult for people to come without public transportation so we have started this initiative”, said Hari Chandana Dasari, Collector, Narayanpet District, Telangana. The delivery will be done free of cost for the old-aged and specially-abled, but for the rest of the people, a nominal cost of Rs 5 to 10 will be charged for delivery, added Dasari.
