Kalraj Mishra appointed Himachal Governor

Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kalraj Mishra has been appointed the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, a Rashtrapati Bhavan press communique said on Monday.

Mishra, who served as the Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government, has replaced Acharya Devvrat, who has been appointed the governor of Gujarat, according to the communique.

Mishra resigned from his post in 2017 after he crossed age 75 and did not contest the last Lok Sabha election.

The senior BJP leader from Uttar Pradesh, who was a Member of the Upper House of parliament three times, had won the 2014 Lok Sabha election from Deoria constituency.
