In a minor reshuffle in the Government of India, two senior IAS officials in the Department of Health & Family Welfare have been appointed as Joint Secretary and Senior Deputy Director General.
K Rajeshwar Rao, a 1988-batch IAS officer has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Health & Family Welfare Department.

Rao replaced 1992-batch IAS officer Rakesh Kumar who has been appointed as Senior Deputy Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research under Department of Health Research. Kumar replaced 1990-batch IAS officer T S Jawahar.
