Smart Cards will be used at Bahrain airport

Soon, citizens of Bahrain will use smart cards in Bahrain International Airport to travel UAE, Oman and Qatar.

Soon, citizens of Bahrain will use smart cards in Bahrain International Airport to travel UAE, Oman and Qatar.

The Cabinet Affairs Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Atiyatallah Al Khalifa announced that soon Bahrainis would be able travel to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia by using the Smart Card. Soon citizens would be able to get through e-Gateway without checking the counter employees. The government is coordinating with the Kingdom's Labour Market Regulatory Authority to record information on foreign workers as they arrive at the airport. The government will also include signatures, fingerprints as well as health insurance information in the Smart Card.
