Texas city has signed an agreement with NewMarket Technology, Inc. and its subsidiary, RedMoon, Inc. to construct a city-wide high-speed wireless network.

RedMoon will provide the real time communications for emergency operations and also provide high-speed wireless connections anywhere in the city back to City Hall. The wireless network will include a number of video surveillance and data communications connections and a private network with super high-speed connections, which do not require expensive fiber but still allows for easy scalability of the network. Data transmissions across the network are secured using 128-bit AES encryption. Additionally, the new network will allow for the Public Works department to comply with Homeland security guidelines.
