Indian Railways ties with ICICI for sales of e-Tickets via merchant establishment

Indian Railways Ministry has singed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ICICI Bank for the sale of e-Tickets through merchant establishment located across 125 cities all over the contry.

These web enabled services through e-Points of sale (e-POS) machines located at merchant establishments/shopping malls in over 125 cities all over the country will enable dispensation of reserved tickets to the common man, apart from the existing services of e-Ticketing and i-Ticketing. Customers can purchase these tickets through their credit cards/ debit cards/cash on payment of service charges/surcharge as per Visa/Master Card rules. The association of Indian Railways with the ICICI Bank will facilitate spreading the network of reservation counters right into the hinterlands of our country, providing tremendous convenience to passengers for reservation/cancellation. Public can utilize the swiping machines (e-POS) for purchasing tickets as well as their shopping needs. While speaking on the occasion, the Railway Minister, Lalu Prasad told that Indian Railway's policy is to provide maximum facilities to the passengers at their doorsteps and make their journey comfortable.
