BT short-listed for the UK e-Borders programme

British Telecom (BT) has announced that BT Emblem is short listed by the UK Home Office to deliver e-Borders Programme.

Home Office's Immigration and Nationality Directorate (IND) are leading the e-Borders programme to establish the modernised, intelligence-led border control and security framework based on the electronic processing of information relating to air, sea and rail passengers traveling into, through and out of the UK. The programme will provide all UK border agencies with enhanced capabilities for information and intelligence sharing and traveler risk assessment. BT is leading the team and Lockheed Martin UK, LogicaCMG, Anite, ARINC and BT's strategic alliance partner Hewlett-Packard (HP) are supporting for this programme. According to Tim Smart, president, BT Global Services, UK, BT and its partners are fully committed to the e-Borders programme.
