Arab ICT regulations seeks guidelines based on European Commission

The recently held annual meeting of the Arab ICT Regulators Network concluded that in the field of roaming there was an absence of real competition to keep a check on the soaring prices.

The study was carried on the Middle East roaming charges that covered parts of North Africa. As a solution for Sub-Saharan Africa a single SIM card was suggested that can be used across the continent. A look into the findings of the Egyptian study asks for African regulators willingness to work with the European Commission to address the rates charged by the international mobile operators.
