Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will execute Kolkata Municipal Corporation's (KMC) ambitious e-Governance project, which the civic body is implementing at a cost of Rs 16.9 crore.
The PSU telecom company would provide connectivity to all the 233 nodal offices of KMC in the metropolis. The project cost is being funded by DFID. The e-governance project would help in ushering in transparency in operations of the civic body. KMC is the first civic body in India to implement such e-Governance project on such a huge scale.
