UAE to set up Internet city in Damascus, Syria

A Greek experts delegation representing IDF Greece Company specialised in designing projects of Internet cities visited Damascus, Syria, according to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Ministry of Communications and Technology of Syria and the UAE al-Kawnia Group for Investment.

The delegation gets acquainted with the overall vision of the projects to set up the primary designs for the project. The Greek experts stressed that Syria possesses wide prospects for developing industry of data technology. Syria and the United Arab Emirates Company for investment Al-Kawnia in Abu Dhabi recently inked two MoUs, the first included building a joint company to establish an a $ 2 million integrated city for Internet in Damascus, and the second is aimed to execute the e-Government services project.
