UP Transfers 17 IAS Officers; Sangeeta Singh Gets Moradabad Charge

The Uttar Pradesh government has carried out a major reshuffle involving 17 IAS officers, changing responsibilities across divisional administration and several important departments. The latest orders cover Moradabad and Aligarh divisions, along with AYUSH, Rural Development, Planning, Cooperation, Urban Development, Higher Education, Animal Husbandry and Consumer Affairs.

One of the key changes is the appointment of Sangeeta Singh, a 2009-batch IAS officer, as the new Divisional Commissioner, Moradabad. The move follows the completion of the extended Uttar Pradesh tenure of Aunjaneya Kumar Singh, a 2005-batch Sikkim-cadre IAS officer.

Sangeeta Singh Moves to Moradabad

Sangeeta Singh, who was serving as Divisional Commissioner, Aligarh, has been transferred to Moradabad as Divisional Commissioner.


She takes over the responsibility following the end of Aunjaneya Kumar Singh’s extended tenure in Uttar Pradesh on August 14, 2026.

Om Prakash Arya Appointed Aligarh Divisional Commissioner

Following Sangeeta Singh’s transfer, Om Prakash Arya, who was serving as Member (Judicial), Revenue Council, Prayagraj, has been appointed Divisional Commissioner, Aligarh.

The two appointments bring changes to the administrative leadership of both Aligarh and Moradabad divisions.

Aunjaneya Kumar Singh Relieved from Uttar Pradesh

Aunjaneya Kumar Singh (IAS: 2005, Sikkim cadre) has been relieved from the Uttar Pradesh government following the completion of his extended tenure.

Singh had served as Divisional Commissioner, Moradabad, since March 6, 2021. His latest extension ended on August 14, 2026.

He had earlier served as District Magistrate, Rampur, where his tenure attracted attention for the administration’s actions in matters involving former Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan.

With no further extension granted, Singh is now set to return to his parent Sikkim cadre.

Gauri Shankar Priyadarshi Gets AYUSH Responsibility

Gauri Shankar Priyadarshi, who was serving as Commissioner, Rural Development and Secretary, Rural Development Department, has been appointed Director General, AYUSH, along with the charge of Mission Director, National AYUSH Mission, Uttar Pradesh.

His move creates a corresponding change in the Rural Development Department.

Pramod Kumar Upadhyay Gets Rural Development Charge

Pramod Kumar Upadhyay, who was serving as Secretary, Social Welfare Department, has been transferred and appointed Commissioner, Rural Development, Uttar Pradesh.

He will take over the responsibility following Gauri Shankar Priyadarshi’s move to AYUSH.

Dr Rajasekhar Shifted to Planning Department

Dr Rajasekhar, a 2004-batch Uttar Pradesh-cadre IAS officer, has been removed from the post of Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Rural).

He has been appointed Secretary, Planning Department, along with the additional responsibility of Director General, Economics and Statistics.

The reshuffle comes amid reports of concerns surrounding the implementation of the Har Ghar Nal programme. However, the specific reasons for the transfer have not been officially stated in the government order.

Yogesh Kumar Gets UP Jal Nigam (Rural)

Yogesh Kumar, who was serving as Commissioner and Registrar, Cooperation, has been appointed Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Rural).

He will take over the responsibility following Dr Rajasekhar’s movement to the Planning Department.

Chaitra V Moves to Revenue Council

Chaitra V, who was serving as Director General, AYUSH and Mission Director, National AYUSH Mission, has been transferred and appointed Member (Judicial), Revenue Council, Prayagraj.

Her new assignment follows Gauri Shankar Priyadarshi’s appointment to the AYUSH leadership.

Amrit Pal Kaur Gets Cooperative Sugar Mills Post

Amrit Pal Kaur, a 2019-batch IAS officer who was awaiting posting, has been appointed Joint Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Sugar Mills Federation Limited.

The government has also withdrawn the additional charge of Joint Managing Director of the federation from Navneet Sehra, Additional Excise Commissioner.

Kumar Prashant Appointed Cooperation Commissioner

Kumar Prashant, who was serving as Secretary, State Information Commission, has been appointed Commissioner and Registrar, Cooperation.

In a related change, Gurrala Srinivasulu, Secretary, Secretariat Administration Department, has been appointed Secretary, State Information Commission.

Changes in Urban Development

Ravindra Kumar, Secretary, Urban Development Department, has been relieved of the additional charge of Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Urban) and State Mission Director, AMRUT.

Masoom Ali Sarwar has been given the additional charge of both positions.

Sarwar has also been relieved of his additional responsibility as Secretary, Planning Department following Dr Rajasekhar’s appointment to that post.

Higher Education Department Also Sees Changes

Amrit Tripathi, Secretary, Higher Education Department, has been appointed Member (Judicial), Revenue Council, Prayagraj.

Meanwhile, Om Prakash Rai, who was serving as Member (Judicial), Revenue Council, Prayagraj, has been transferred and appointed Special Secretary, Higher Education Department.

Vivek Srivastava and Devendra Kumar Pandey Get New Roles

Vivek Srivastava, who was serving as Secretary, Lucknow Development Authority, has been transferred and appointed Special Secretary, Animal Husbandry Department.

Devendra Kumar Pandey, formerly Special Secretary in the Agriculture Production Commissioner Branch, has been appointed Special Secretary, Consumer Affairs Department.

Reshuffle Covers Several Key Areas

The latest administrative exercise brings changes across a wide range of departments and field assignments, including divisional administration, AYUSH, rural development, water supply, planning, cooperation, urban development, higher education, animal husbandry and consumer affairs.
