Andhra Pradesh, Google

Andhra Pradesh has taken a significant step towards strengthening its digital transformation agenda by partnering with Google to explore opportunities in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and digital governance. The state government announced the formation of a joint task force with the technology giant to drive innovation and accelerate the adoption of advanced digital solutions.

The decision was taken during a meeting between Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Google Asia-Pacific President Karan Bhatia in Singapore as part of the Chief Minister’s ongoing efforts to attract technology investments and strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s digital ecosystem.

Joint Task Force for AI and Cloud Infrastructure

The proposed task force will focus on developing AI and cloud computing capabilities across the state while supporting key digital governance initiatives.

Discussions centred on positioning Andhra Pradesh as a leading destination for AI innovation, data centres and digital infrastructure development. The collaboration is expected to help the state adopt emerging technologies to improve governance, enhance public service delivery and strengthen digital infrastructure.

Officials said the initiative aligns with the government’s vision of creating a technology-driven administration that can deliver faster and more efficient citizen services.

Focus on AI-Powered Governance

During the discussions, Chief Minister Naidu invited Google to play a larger role in Andhra Pradesh’s digital transformation journey.

He proposed collaboration with Google Cloud to strengthen the state’s Real-Time Governance ecosystem through AI-enabled technologies. The objective is to improve decision-making, data analysis and service delivery by leveraging advanced digital tools.

The government believes that integrating AI into governance systems can improve administrative efficiency while enabling more responsive public services.

AI Skilling and Talent Development

A key area of discussion was the development of a future-ready workforce equipped with digital and AI skills.

Naidu informed Google representatives that the state is establishing dedicated AI and Cloud Computing Centres in universities and engineering colleges. He also proposed collaboration on AI skilling programmes, cloud certification courses and technology training initiatives to prepare students and professionals for emerging industry demands.

The Chief Minister also invited Google to participate in the Sanjeevani Project, a technology-enabled healthcare initiative being developed by the state government.

The project aims to use digital tools and advanced technologies to improve healthcare accessibility, efficiency and service delivery. Officials believe collaboration with global technology leaders can help strengthen healthcare infrastructure and expand digital health solutions across the state.

Renewable Energy to Support Digital Infrastructure

Naidu highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s progress in renewable energy and green infrastructure development during the meeting.

He noted that the state is creating a sustainable energy ecosystem capable of supporting power-intensive industries such as data centres and advanced technology facilities. Reliable green energy, he said, will be a key advantage in attracting future investments in digital infrastructure.

Expanding Global Partnerships

Beyond the meeting with Google, the Chief Minister held discussions with Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on a wide range of sectors, including technology, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, education, urban development and trade.

The discussions also covered opportunities for collaboration in semiconductor manufacturing, quantum technologies and research-driven innovation. Andhra Pradesh is seeking international partnerships to strengthen its position in emerging technology sectors.

Focus on Logistics and Urban Development

During his visit, Naidu also met leaders from the logistics sector to discuss opportunities for developing world-class supply chain infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh.

In separate discussions with global urban development experts, he explored possibilities for collaboration in sustainable city planning, infrastructure development and governance reforms.
