DigiLocker, the Government of India’s digital document wallet under the Digital India programme, has onboarded 68 electricity distribution companies (DISCOMs) and power departments, enabling consumers across 35 States and Union Territories to access their electricity bills digitally through the platform.

The integration covers a wide range of public and private electricity utilities, including BSES Rajdhani Power Limited, BSES Yamuna Power Limited, Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM), Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited and Noida Power Company Limited, among others. The move is expected to benefit millions of electricity consumers nationwide.

With the new service, users can securely retrieve issuer-verified electricity bills directly from DigiLocker, reducing dependence on physical copies, emails and visits to utility offices. The platform provides a centralized and trusted repository for accessing essential documents issued by service providers.

Officials said the onboarding of 68 electricity utilities marks a significant milestone in strengthening India’s digital public infrastructure and utility ecosystem. As DigiLocker continues to expand its network of trusted issuers, citizens are expected to benefit from easier access to government and utility documents, while service providers can leverage more efficient and streamlined digital delivery mechanisms.
