IPS Reshuffle

In a major administrative exercise, the Madhya Pradesh government has carried out a large-scale reshuffle of 62 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, impacting senior leadership positions as well as district-level policing across the state. The move, announced late Saturday night by the Home Department, is aimed at strengthening governance, improving coordination, and enhancing operational efficiency.

Ravi Kumar Gupta Gets Key Training Role

Among the top appointments, Ravi Kumar Gupta has been posted as Special Director General of Police (Training) and will also head the Police Academy in Bhouri, Bhopal.

At the senior level, Rajababu Singh has been appointed Additional Director General of Police (Rail), while D.P. Gupta has been given a wide-ranging portfolio covering community policing, RTI, public service delivery, cooperative fraud, research and development, and police reforms.

Solomon Yash Kumar Minz will oversee complaints, human rights, and welfare accounts.

Key DIG-Level Transfers

Several officers have been assigned important responsibilities at the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) level:

  • Amit Singh – DIG Armed Force, Indore Range
  • Awadhesh Kumar Goswami – Police Headquarters, Bhopal
  • Amit Sanghi – DIG Home Guard/SDERF
  • Virendra Kumar Singh – DIG, Narmadapuram Range
  • Prashant Khare – Posted back to headquarters

Other officers taking up key DIG-level roles include Manish Kumar Agrawal, Manoj Kumar Rai, Riaz Iqbal, Rahul Kumar Lodha, and Simala Prasad.

District-Level Policing Sees Major Changes

The reshuffle has significantly impacted district policing, with multiple Superintendents of Police (SPs) reassigned:

  • Suraj Kumar Verma – SP Bhind
  • Yangchen Dolkar Bhutia – SP Shivpuri
  • Gurukaran Singh – SP Rewa
  • Anurag Sujania – SP Sagar
  • Sachin Sharma – SP Dhar
  • Dharmraj Meena – SP Morena
  • Rajat Saklecha – SP Chhatarpur
  • Agam Jain – SP Khandwa
  • Devendra Kumar Patidar – SP Jhabua

Additional field postings include:

  • Sonakshi Saxena – SP Sehore
  • Mayur Khandelwal – SP Datia
  • Shiyaz KM – SP Singrauli
  • Anand Kaladgi – SP Damoh
  • Krishnalal Chandani – SP Seoni

Urban Policing Restructured

In urban centres, several Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) have been reassigned:

  • Aman Singh Rathore – DCP Indore
  • Sunil Kumar Mehta – DCP Indore
  • Narendra Rawat – DCP Indore
  • Abhishek Ranjan – DCP Indore
  • Vikas Kumar Sahwal – DCP Bhopal
  • Ayush Gupta – DCP Bhopal
  • Adarshkant Shukla – DCP Bhopal

Additional Administrative Changes

The reshuffle also includes a few notable administrative updates:

  • Anil Kumar relieved from additional charge related to Accounts and Welfare
  • Mohd Shahid Absar no longer holds additional charge of the Police Academy
  • Aditya Mishra given additional responsibility for Hawk Force operations in Balaghat
  • Rahul Deshmukh appointed as aide to the Governor

Officials believe the move will inject fresh momentum into the policing system by improving leadership distribution, strengthening district administration, and enhancing overall law enforcement efficiency across Madhya Pradesh.
