In a significant milestone for India’s aviation and infrastructure sector, Tata Projects has announced that the Noida International Airport is fully ready for commercial operations after securing all necessary regulatory approvals.
The announcement marks the successful completion of the airport’s construction phase, positioning it as one of the most ambitious greenfield airport projects in the country. Tata Projects, which served as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor, described the achievement as a testament to its capability in delivering complex, large-scale infrastructure aligned with India’s growth ambitions.
Designed to handle increasing air traffic demand in north India, the airport boasts a 3,900-metre runway capable of accommodating wide-body aircraft, ensuring readiness for both domestic and international operations. The facility also includes a state-of-the-art cargo terminal, a modern Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower, and extensive airside and landside infrastructure.
Tata Projects played a comprehensive role in shaping the airport, executing key components such as the terminal building, runway, cargo terminal, ATC tower, internal roads, utilities, and other critical infrastructure. The scale and speed of execution highlight the growing expertise of Indian companies in delivering world-class aviation projects.
Once operational, the Noida International Airport is expected to significantly ease congestion at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport while boosting connectivity, trade, and economic development across Uttar Pradesh and the wider northern region.
