The Government of Punjab under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has ordered the transfer and reassignment of two Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers as part of a fresh administrative reshuffle on 16 Feb, 2026. According to the official transfer order, the changes involve 2011-batch IAS officer Girish Dayalan and 2014-batch IAS officer Preeti Yadav.
Girish Dayalan (IAS 2011) has been assigned additional responsibilities while retaining his existing portfolios. He will continue as Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Punjab and Additional Managing Director, Punjab State Cooperative Bank Ltd.. He has been posted as Director, Punjab Infrastructure Development Board and given Additional Managing Director, MARKFED (in place of Preeti Yadav), expanding his role in the cooperative and infrastructure sectors.
Preeti Yadav (IAS 2014), who was serving as Managing Director of MARKFED, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Employment Generation, Skill Development & Training. Her new assignment places her in a department focused on employment generation and skill development initiatives in Punjab.
The reshuffle reflects the state government’s effort to strengthen administrative oversight in cooperative institutions and employment-linked departments. MARKFED, a key cooperative marketing federation in Punjab, handles procurement, distribution and agricultural marketing activities, while the Employment Generation, Skill Development & Training Department plays a central role in addressing unemployment and enhancing workforce capabilities. The transfers take immediate effect, as per the government notification.
