Manish Raj Gupta has assumed additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), officials said on Thursday.

Gupta, a senior executive with extensive experience in the steel and public sector domain, will oversee the operations of the state-owned steel producer as it works to enhance production efficiencies and pursue strategic business goals.
RINL, which operates the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, is a key contributor to India’s steel manufacturing capacity. As CMD, Gupta is expected to provide leadership on operational matters, engagement with stakeholders and execution of ongoing projects.
An official familiar with the development said the decision reflects the government’s confidence in Gupta’s ability to steer RINL through its current phase of growth and address challenges in the competitive steel sector.

“With additional charge of CMD, he will continue to focus on strengthening operational performance and advancing priority initiatives across the organisation,” the official added.
