The Government of India issued several key notifications today concerning senior-level appointments and recommendations across the central administrative machinery:-

• Shashank Mani Tripathi (IAS 2015 AGMUT) has had his tenure as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) curtailed and, under the Central Staffing Scheme, been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Minister for Home Affairs, at the level of Deputy Secretary, for a period up to 30 August 2028.
• Rajesh Aggarwal (IAS 1989 Maharashtra), serving as Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, has been repatriated to his parent cadre of Maharashtra, as requested by the state government. 
• Dr Himanshu Roy (IRS IT 2011), Director in the Department of Pharmaceuticals, has received a three-month extension in his tenure beyond 15 October 2025, now authorised up to 15 January 2026; he has been on central deputation since 5 September 2023.
• Rajesh Lakhani (IAS TN 92), Commissioner of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, in the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, has been entrusted with the additional charge of the post of Director General, National Testing Agency (NTA) for one year.
• Smita Srivastava (IRSEE 1997), Joint Secretary in the Department of Higher Education, has had her tenure extended by one year beyond 29 July 2025.

These appointments reflect the Centre’s ongoing efforts to fine-tune its senior administrative cadre and ensure continuity in key departments.
