To enhance industrial energy efficiency and promote sustainable economic growth, the Government of India has launched the Assistance in Deploying Energy Efficient Technologies in Industries & Establishments (ADEETIE) scheme. The national roll-out was formally inaugurated by Union Minister for Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, at a special event organised at Arya Postgraduate College in Panipat, Haryana.

The scheme, with a budgetary outlay of ₹1000 crore, is being implemented by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the Ministry of Power. It is designed to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in adopting energy-efficient technologies through both financial incentives and technical assistance. The initiative is a vital step in India’s broader push toward a low-carbon economy and achieving its international climate commitments.
ADEETIE offers a structured and comprehensive support framework for MSMEs, including:

- Interest subvention of 5% for Micro and Small Enterprises and 3% for Medium Enterprises on loans for energy efficiency projects.
- Provision of Investment Grade Energy Audits (IGEA).
- Preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs).
- Assistance in Monitoring & Verification (M&V) of implemented technologies.
During the launch event, Shri Manohar Lal also inaugurated the ADEETIE web portal (adeetie.beeindia.gov.in) and released the official Scheme Brochure. The portal aims to streamline the financing process for MSMEs and facilitate access to scheme benefits. In his keynote address, the Minister highlighted the strategic role of the MSME sector in India’s development and emphasised that energy efficiency, coupled with renewable energy adoption, is essential for economic resilience and environmental protection.

“ADEETIE is a transformative initiative that empowers MSMEs to adopt cleaner technologies and become globally competitive through sustainability,” said Shri Manohar Lal. “This scheme will play a pivotal role in improving energy productivity, reducing operational costs, and building green industrial corridors in alignment with our vision of Viksit Bharat.”
Shri Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Power, elaborated on the scheme’s implementation, noting its initial rollout across 14 energy-intensive sectors and 60 industrial clusters, with further expansion planned in the second phase. He emphasised the need for a supportive policy and financing ecosystem to enable MSMEs to lead India’s climate action efforts.

Shri A.K. Singh, Additional Chief Secretary (Energy), Government of Haryana, urged industries to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and leverage ADEETIE for long-term competitiveness. Shri Akash Tripathi, Additional Secretary and Director General, BEE, revealed the scheme’s expected impact, including the mobilisation of ₹ 9,000 crore in investments, of which ₹ 6,750 crore is projected to be lent by MSMEs.
The event also included the distribution of appreciation certificates to early adopter MSME units, the signing of MoUs with industrial associations, and testimonials from beneficiaries showcasing successful energy-efficient upgrades. The ADEETIE scheme stands as a landmark initiative under India’s energy conservation mission, aimed at improving energy intensity across industries while promoting inclusive, green growth for the future
