Mohammed Ali Shihab Takes Charge as CVO of MRPL

Mohammed Ali Shihab A., IAS (Nagaland cadre, 2011 batch), has taken charge as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL).

MRPL, a Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Enterprise and subsidiary of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), has welcomed Shihab to the new assignment.

Experienced IAS Officer Takes Up New Role

Mohammed Ali Shihab is a 2011-batch IAS officer of the Nagaland cadre with experience in public administration and governance.


During his career, he has handled several responsibilities in the Government of Nagaland, including assignments in the State Secretariat, district administration and development-related sectors.

His administrative experience includes policy implementation, governance and development programmes.

Focus on Vigilance and Corporate Governance

As CVO of MRPL, Shihab will be responsible for overseeing the company’s vigilance-related framework and supporting efforts to strengthen integrity and transparency.

His role will also involve promoting sound governance practices and strengthening internal oversight mechanisms within the organisation.

MRPL Looks to Strengthen Integrity Framework

The appointment comes with a focus on maintaining strong standards of ethical conduct and accountability across the organisation.

MRPL has expressed confidence that Mohammed Ali Shihab will contribute to further strengthening its vigilance systems and corporate governance practices.
