Bureaucratic changes in Jammu & Kashmir, Shantmanu appointed Administrative Secretary School Education

In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Jammu and Kashmir government has announced the transfer and posting of several senior officers to enhance governance efficiency across key departments.


Shantmanu, a 1991-batch IAS officer from the AGMUT cadre, who was serving as the Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) of the Higher Education Department, has been assigned the additional role of Administrative Secretary for the School Education Department.

Suresh Kumar Gupta, a 1991-batch IFS officer from the AGMUT cadre, who was holding the position of Principal Secretary to the Government, Culture Department, has been relieved of his additional responsibilities.

Saurabh Bhagat, a 2002-batch IAS officer from the AGMUT cadre, who was serving as Commissioner/Secretary to the Government in the Science and Technology Department, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Administrative Secretary for the Information Technology Department. This move relieves Shantmanu of his previous additional charge in the department.


Additionally, K. Ramesh Kumar, a 2000-batch IFS officer from the AGMUT cadre, who was serving as Chief Conservator of Forests for Settlement & Demarcation, has been transferred to the role of Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Culture Department, thereby relieving Suresh Kumar Gupta of his charge.
