The partnership aims to train 500,000 individuals, including students, educators, developers, government officials, and women entrepreneurs, by 2026. This initiative focuses on equipping diverse groups with the knowledge and tools needed to thrive in the AI-driven world. - AI Catalysts and Rural Innovation:
To promote AI innovation in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, “AI Catalysts,” a Center of Excellence, will be established. These centres will nurture 100,000 AI innovators and developers through hackathons, community initiatives, and an AI marketplace.
- AI Productivity Labs:
Twenty AI Productivity Labs will be set up across National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) and NIELIT centres in 10 states. These labs will provide foundational AI courses to 100,000 students and train 20,000 educators, extending the program to 200 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). - Support for Startups:
Microsoft’s Founders Hub program will provide Azure credits, business resources, and mentorship to up to 1,000 AI startups. This will strengthen India’s AI startup ecosystem and promote innovation. - Indic Language Support and Datasets:
The collaboration will develop foundational AI models with Indic language support to cater to India’s linguistic diversity. It will also support the creation of a robust dataset platform, ensuring cultural and contextual relevance in AI applications. - Responsible AI Development:
The partnership will emphasize ethical AI practices by creating frameworks, standards, and evaluation metrics. It will also support the establishment of an AI Safety Institute in India to ensure responsible AI development.
