Rajesh Kumar Singh Takes Additional Charge as CVO of NHPC

Rajesh Kumar Singh (IRSS) has assumed additional charge as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of NHPC Limited, taking on the responsibility alongside his existing assignment.


A 2002-batch Indian Railway Stores Service (IRSS) officer, Singh is currently serving as CVO of Power Finance Corporation (PFC). His additional charge at NHPC will be for six months from the date of assumption, or until a regular CVO is appointed, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Singh Brings 24 Years of Railway Experience

Singh has more than 24 years of experience with Indian Railways, having worked across procurement, vigilance, information technology and material management.


During his career, he has held several key positions, including Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operations), North Eastern Railway, Banaras Division, and Chief Materials Manager at Modern Coach Factory, Raebareli.

At the Modern Coach Factory, he was responsible for overseeing procurement-related activities, giving him extensive exposure to supply management and organisational operations.


Strong Background in Procurement and Vigilance

Singh’s professional experience spans multiple functional areas, including procurement, vigilance, IT and material management. He has also handled cross-functional teams in different organisational settings.

His experience in vigilance and procurement brings together operational and compliance perspectives that are relevant to his additional responsibility at NHPC.

Academic and Leadership Credentials

Singh holds a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication from IIT Roorkee and an M.Tech in Communication Systems from IIT (BHU), Varanasi.

He has also completed a Senior Leadership Programme in Singapore, Malaysia and China, adding an international leadership component to his professional experience.

Additional Responsibility at NHPC

As CVO, Singh will oversee vigilance-related responsibilities at NHPC while continuing his existing role at PFC.

His experience across vigilance, procurement, technology and public-sector administration is expected to support NHPC’s focus on transparency, operational integrity and effective organisational governance.
