State-owned NHPC Limited has appointed Paresh Rasiklal Ranpara as Director (Personnel), strengthening the company’s leadership team with an experienced human resources professional from the power sector.
The appointment has been approved by the Ministry of Power and will be effective from the date he assumes charge. He will serve in the position for five years or until his superannuation on August 31, 2031, whichever is earlier, unless otherwise directed.
Joins NHPC from Grid-India
Before his appointment to NHPC, Ranpara was serving as Director (Human Resources) at Grid Controller of India Limited (Grid-India), where he played a key role in managing human resource strategies and organisational development.

His move to NHPC brings with it more than 28 years of experience in human resource management across public sector power companies.
Extensive Experience in Human Resource Management
Over the course of his career, Ranpara has worked extensively in areas such as human resource planning, organisational restructuring, leadership development and workforce management.
He has also handled initiatives related to performance management, succession planning and employee capability development, helping organisations strengthen their human capital and adapt to changing business requirements.
His experience spans both the public and private sectors, giving him a broad understanding of organisational management and people-centric leadership.
Key Role at Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited
Prior to joining Grid-India, Ranpara served as the Human Resources Head at Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL).
In this role, he was responsible for formulating HR policies for a group of power companies employing more than 60,000 personnel.
He also played an important role during the restructuring of the erstwhile Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB), contributing to the successful transition through effective workforce planning and communication strategies.
Focus on Leadership and Skill Development
Throughout his professional journey, Ranpara has been associated with several initiatives aimed at strengthening organisational performance.
His work has included developing leadership programmes, designing succession planning frameworks and introducing HR practices that encourage innovation, creativity and employee reskilling, particularly in response to the growing adoption of renewable energy technologies.
These initiatives have helped organisations build future-ready workforces capable of meeting evolving industry demands.
Strong Academic Background
Ranpara holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Sardar Patel University.
He is also a certified assessor from XLRI Xavier School of Management, adding specialised expertise in talent assessment and leadership evaluation to his professional profile.
Leadership Role at NHPC
As Director (Personnel), Ranpara will be responsible for overseeing NHPC’s human resource strategy, organisational development and employee welfare initiatives.
His role will include strengthening workforce capabilities, supporting talent development and aligning HR practices with the company’s long-term growth plans.
Officials believe his extensive experience in managing large public sector workforces will support NHPC as it continues to expand its operations across hydroelectric, renewable energy and other clean energy projects.
